Public bug reported: [Impact]
New hardware being enabled needs the firmware for DMC and GuC, freshly merged to upstream git. [Fix] Merge the files from upstream git. [Test case] Boot a machine with DG2 using oem-5.17 kernel plus a dkms, check that both firmware get loaded and i915.ko is used. [Where things could go wrong] This is for new hardware, there is no chance of regressing shipping platforms. ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux-firmware (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux-firmware in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971539 Title: Add firmware for i915/DG2 Status in linux-firmware package in Ubuntu: New Status in linux-firmware source package in Jammy: New Bug description: [Impact] New hardware being enabled needs the firmware for DMC and GuC, freshly merged to upstream git.
