Title:
Detecting more sound input and output sources than actually exist
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I have a new Dell XPS 17 laptop and I have a sound issue. Many times
some online meeting has either no output sound or no input sound (so I
can either not hear or not be heard) because the system shows 2
different input and 2 different output devices, even though I have
nothing else connected to the laptop. It is extremely annoying to not
reliably start an online meeting for instance; even if I figure it
out, changing the input does not seem to work unless I restart Firefox
(maybe it does not dynamically detect the sound changes in Settings).
I will attach 3 screenshots with the devices but have in mind there is
nothing but the USB-C charger connected to the laptop. The Audio
Switcher Extension is even stranger, I think it shows all the
available USB-C ports (1 is occupied by the charger, 3 remaining) as
sound outputs.
