Title: VRF Kernel Module Does Not Exist Status in linux-aws package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: On a standard Ubuntu 22.04 LTS image, the vrf module exists and can be loaded. The AMI image ami-08c40ec9ead489470 in AWS us-east-1 (and all other regions that I have tested) does not have this kernel module built therefore I cannot create vrf network devices. Usually I could run `ip link add vrf-mgmt type vrf table 10` and create the VRF device, but instead get an error `Error: Unknown device type.`. Trying to load the module: # modprobe vrf modprobe: FATAL: Module vrf not found in directory /lib/modules/5.15.0-1020-aws # Boot config # grep VRF /boot/config-5.15.0-1020-aws CONFIG_NET_VRF=m ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: linux-aws-headers-5.15.0-1020 5.15.0-1020.24 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-1020.24-aws 5.15.53 Uname: Linux 5.15.0-1020-aws x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82.1 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown Date: Wed Oct 5 18:41:11 2022 Ec2AMI: ami-08c40ec9ead489470 Ec2AMIManifest: (unknown) Ec2AvailabilityZone: us-east-1a Ec2InstanceType: t3.medium Ec2Kernel: unavailable Ec2Ramdisk: unavailable PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=C.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: linux-aws UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-aws/+bug/1991833/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
