I wonder if it's a problem related to the 'new' HDMI cable.

I suggest booting a different OS, or different release of Ubuntu using
'live' media & seeing if the issue occurs there, ie. confirming it's
related to Ubuntu, and not just the 'new HDMI cable'.

  Hi

  i did use ubuntu for more than a year on this laptop 
  last a few days i used HDMI cable, today for a few hours i did use a new 
cable "longer one"
  now suddenly my laptop display went green as you can see in the attachment
