Title: [mantic] Allow module compression to be turned off Status in linux package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in linux source package in Mantic: Fix Committed Bug description: [SRU Justification] == Impact 23.10/Mantic (and newer) kernels are packaged with modules compressed to save disk space and load time. This will remain unchanged. For simplifying backports into 22.04/Jammy LTS we need a way to turn this off when compiling those newer kernels as HWE kernels. == Fix Add an option to turn off module compression when packaging the kernel. This will be unset when compiling Mantic and newer. So there will be no change there. == Testcase Verify that in Mantic the size of the modules package(s) does not change. == Regression potential The compression could be accidentally disabled in newer kernels.
