Title:
Rx errors reliably triggerable in r8169

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Description of the problem
Checking out a private subversion repo reliably triggers receive errors in
the r8169 driver when using an onboard Realtek NIC.

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Do an svn checkout of a large private repo over HTTPS.

  Expected result:
No errors to be triggered in the r8169 driver during the hour the svn
checkout takes to complete.

  Actual result:
Messages like the following can be reliably triggered at some point while the
svn checkout is running:
  [ 2128.903354] r8169 0000:02:00.0 enp2s0: Rx ERROR. status = 352ac5b5
  [ 2128.903375] r8169 0000:02:00.0 enp2s0: Rx ERROR. status = 352ac5b5
  [ 2128.903425] r8169 0000:02:00.0 enp2s0: Rx ERROR. status = 352ac5b2
  [ 2130.527044] r8169 0000:02:00.0 enp2s0: Rx ERROR. status = 352ac4e8
  [ 2159.737017] r8169 0000:02:00.0 enp2s0: Rx ERROR. status = 352ac5b2

Also the error count reported in the card's statistics goes up.

  How reproducible is the problem?
Multiple errors are seen each time an svn checkout is done.

  Version information
  Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
  Ubuntu 6.11.0-21.21~24.04.1-generic 6.11.11

A different (and much newer) PCIe Realtek 2.5G network card in the
same machine never triggers these errors despite using the same
  driver.

This problem might be related to bug #2106491 but that issue has only
happened once in several weeks unlike this issue.
