Title:
iwlwifi missing support for Intel 9462 [8086:51f0] on Ubuntu 25.04
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
After upgrading to Ubuntu 25.04, the system fails to detect my Wi-Fi
adapter. The interface is not listed in ip link, and no Wi-Fi options
appear in the UI.
The system uses the iwlwifi driver and the affected device is:
0000:00:14.3 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Alder Lake-P PCH
CNVi WiFi [8086:51f0] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation Dual Band Wi-Fi 5(802.11ac) Wireless-AC 9462
80MHz 1x1 [Jefferson Peak] [8086:42a4]
Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi
Kernel modules: iwlwifi
This exact same hardware works correctly in Ubuntu 24.04, where the
Wi-Fi is detected and connects properly.
I attempted copying the firmware manually to /lib/firmware/ on Ubuntu
25.04, but that did not resolve the issue.
I believe this is a kernel regression or a firmware packaging issue in
25.04. Please let me know if additional logs or testing is needed.
I’m currently reporting this bug from Ubuntu 24.04 because Wi-Fi is
not working in 25.04.
