Public bug reported: Issue: After the kernel is updated from 6.11 HWE to 6.14 HWE in an upgrade, the PC experiences suspend issues every time being put to sleep. After pressing sleep, the system would go blackscreen and freeze, with the mouse pointer still visible at first, then the screen would start to flicker randomly; the system is unresponsive to key-press in this state, and would last for minutes before successfully suspending. This bug is reproducible every time every time the PC suspends on kernel 6.14. Switching back to kernel 6.11 on boot solves the issue completely (system suspend takes under 2 seconds), and switching to kernel 6.14 causes the stated issue to be reproduced. Cold-rebooting several times did not solve the problem. System: KUbuntu 24.04 (HWE)/ AMD ryzen 9 3950x/ 128GiB RAM/ Radeon RX6600xt/ ASUS Prime x570-pro (Bios 5013)/ Display: 3840x2160, XOrg, KWin compositor, using the default AMDGPU driver. Using NVME drives. Only KUbuntu installed. Additional info: The system has been running stably and trouble-free since setup until this update, no recent hardware changes, no major recent software/config changes. The DMESG during the issue is attached.
