Title:
Kernel 6.17.0-5-generic (Ubuntu 25.04 dev) lacks ashmem kernel
  support, preventing Waydroid function

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Affected Package: linux-image-6.17.0-5-generic

The current development kernel for Ubuntu 25 is missing the complete
set of Android kernel modules (binder and ashmem) required for
Waydroid (and other containerized Android environments) to run.

The binder support is present and compiled as a module
  (CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC=m), identified as binder_linux.ko.zst.

However, the required ashmem module is missing, which prevents
Waydroid from setting up the networking environment and runtime.

  Tests Performed:

      Configuration check: grep -i "BINDER\|ASHMEM" /boot/config-$(uname
  -r) confirms CONFIG_ANDROID_BINDER_IPC=m.

Module loading attempt fails: The command sudo modprobe
ashmem_linux returns the error: modprobe: FATAL: Module ashmem_linux
  not found in directory /lib/modules/6.17.0-5-generic.

Final result: The necessary devices (/dev/binder and /dev/ashmem)
are not created, leading to the Waydroid error: RuntimeError: Command
  failed: % /usr/lib/waydroid/data/scripts/waydroid-net.sh start.

Request: Please ensure that full ashmem support is included in future
Ubuntu 25 kernel builds to restore Waydroid functionality.
