The ethernet seems to work correctly, from BIOS (wire test capabilities)
and from ubuntu the LED blinks.

But the connexion couldn't be etablished, so I decide to upgrade to
Realtek's last driver, which didn't solve anything more.

I've also tried to boot from a 12-04.4 LTS usb-key, and get the same
problem (have a look @ joined file).

** Attachment added: "idem under 12-04.4 usb-key test"

Title:
10ec:8168 [Gigabyte H61N-USB3] Realtek R8111E not connecting to DHCP
  on Trusty

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I am trying GIGABYTE motherboard (H61N-USB3) with a RTL8111E chip,
with the latest BIOS version (giving RTL8111F), and I installed the
"new driver" proposed by REALTEK (r8168-8.038.00, builded on
  2014/01/08).

The card LED blinks (green & orange), but there is "no connexion" to
the local network (thru DHCP) ... on eth0.

So I connected a NET2USB key in order to access to the network ... on
  eth1
