Hi,
I come up with a solution using libusb. The connection protocol lacks (at
least) two packets that switch on the sound on the HiFi.
I made a C script that works with MCM530, but it should also work with MCM5xx
https://github.com/nheir/usb_pc_link
The readme describes the missing packets.

Title:
[Hardy] Philips Audio Set MCM595 PC Link USB doesn't work.

Status in The Linux Kernel:
  In Progress
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
This is a "Boombox" Philips Micro HiFi System model MCM595 with the
"PC Link" feature. It's detected bye ALSA and even the mixer shows up.
But testing sound with it does not work. I've tested sound redirecting
it with System -> Preferences -> Sound ... and even with MPlayer
assigning the hw0.1 in the alsa mplayer module.

  This is the system configuration:
