The patch was reverted upstream unfortunately in https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=c6930992948adf0f8fc1f6ff1da51c5002a2cf95 so it's not really appropriate to backport to trusty
Revert "drm/i915: reverse dp link param selection, prefer fast over wide again" This reverts commit 38aecea0ccbb909d635619cba22f1891e589b434. This breaks Haswell Thinkpad + Lenovo dock in SST mode with a HDMI monitor attached. Before this we can 1920x1200 mode, after this we only ever get 1024x768, and a lot of deferring. This didn't revert clean, but this should be fine. bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1117008 Cc: sta...@vger.kernel.org # v3.15 Signed-off-by: Dave Airlie <airl...@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Daniel Vetter <daniel.vet...@ffwll.ch> ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #1117008 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1117008 ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1348466 Title: [hsw DP] Ubuntu 12.04 unable to use external monitor through edock Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: this bug is filed to track an upstream bug http://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=73694 It will be good if we can pull the patch from the upstream bug for Ubuntu kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1348466/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages Post to : kernel-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~kernel-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
