You have been subscribed to a public bug: It doesn't happen every time, but often if I close the lid and reopen it on my laptop, the screen goes completely frozen. The mouse works, but clicking anywhere or using the keyboard does nothing. Even the spinning indicator on my Google Chrome window got stuck mid-spin.
I was able to hit ctrl-alt-f1 to get to a terminal window and capture the bug. The problem was able to circumvvent the problem by doing a sudo kill [Xorg PID], but of course I lost all my session data. This never occurred on before updating to natty (I've used both lucid and maverick on this machine). Let me know if you need any more information.
