ral(4) driver?

i'm looking at buying a notebook computer, and i'd like to run dragonfly
on it, but the wireless adapter uses the rt2500 chipset... i  found some
messages on this list back in may about porting the ral(4) driver to
dragonfly, but haven't seen anything more recent... has any progress
been made on this?
