Nevermind, I'm a dip. Somehow I was still booting from a kernel dated on the 8th. Building/installing just the kernel like you suggested fixed my issue. I do appreciate your patience and willingness to work through this for me. Now, to find out what really happened to all those [build| install][world|kernel] cycles.... :-$ Thanks! Adrian
