    Are you running a completely current world? I tried the same
    patch:

    /*
     * x.c
     */
    #include <stdio.h>

    main()
    {
        execl("./x", "x", NULL);
    }

    And all I got was system + user time.

yep, compiled yesterday. With exactly this source i get:

12% user 0% nice 14% system 73% interrupt 0% idle

and WCPU/CPU for x shows 97.6%

i'll grab a non-optimized plain GENERIC from chlamyida in some time.

cheers
