I don't think there are any serious legal concerns,
if there are, then those concerns apply to the
whole effort, including the classpath.org fellas.
The only "generic" concern that I can dream up
is patent oriented -- if their API "forces" the
specific use of patented technique. In this case,
much research will be needed for the work around...
so no use trying to plan for it.
