I happen to know of an *excellent* source on PCI, but unfortunately you need
to pay for it. It's the PCI System Architecture book from the "MindShare
Architecture Series." They were designed for hardware and driver
implementors, and go into extreme detail. Unfortunately, they run for about
$30 US (I only have the plug-n-prey book). The series is published by
MindShare, Inc.
