> Is it dicfficult to implement the Java Native Interface?

(First, it's great that we've got a FDC driver going, it shows
great progress. Second, it's that the VGA driver now does text/graphics
switching, so it should be really easy to make it to text/text switching
and finish off the virtual consoles. (Once, that is, I finish rewriting
the keyboard driver to more closely resemble Albrecht's code...)) To my
(limited) understanding of JNI, implementing the calls TO JNI won't be
difficult at all, but implementing all the JNI callbacks will be at least
tedious and possibly very difficult. I haven't looked closely enough at
the spec yet to say more than that. Linus, if you feel a particular
desire to code JNI up, please, please, do, because it'll make things go
MUCH faster w.r.t. to integrating classpath.

BTW, I've also committed my (slight) changes, JM, so go ahead and
get the gc into cvs.
