I am very much interested in (re)compiling jeps0001a on my Linux box.

Which JDK are you using?

Where can I get a copy?

You are using JNI the way JNI should be used for the JOS Project.
Regardless of speed, it is a great way to develop in a mixed C/C++ and Java
environment.
