(I still hope to scan the comments one of these days.) It wasn't such a good idea to wait 18 months, or about eight upstream releases, before doing a rerun. Running the script more often should keep these cleanup patches short and easier to review. Should I perhaps try do a run of scripts/check-configs.pl every time master is bumped to the latest upstream release? (Or prod someone else to do that, of course.)
