got it.. thanks.. worked.

it seems there is some problem with "all" target make command. make is not
giving any error but I didnt find any object files in /lib/modules/2.6.18-
1.2798.fc6/kernel

Here is what I got:

make -C /lib/modules/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6/build SUBDIRS=/lib/modules/2.6.18-
1.2798.fc6/kernel modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-i686'
 Building modules, stage 2.
 MODPOST
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernels/2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-i686

It wouldn't make sense to have several modules in your case.

But you can built one module from several source files.
