good question. the first one above -- chris hallinan's -- hasn't
even gone to press yet. i'm waiting for one more chapter to review, i
review it, send it back, then the publisher takes it from there.
the second book -- robert love's -- has already gone to press and
should be available beginning of july.
i recommend both, as well as "essential linux device drivers" by
sreekrishnan venkateswaran. all of the above are adequately current,
while most of the other standards are starting to show their age.
