Hi,

Most of the watchdog drivers have an option "module_param(nowayout,
int, 0);" and this determines if the watchdog is disabled when the
device is closed.  You may want to consider disabling nowayout via a
kernel boot parameter and this should stop the router from rebooting
when the watchdog is closed.
