Where can I find this code?  It is certainly a feature 
that should be preserved.  I am sure I implemented differently,

It was applying cleanly to the 2.6.21rc3.  I had updated the README this
morning.

Perhaps, but there is no one NAPI option.  Each enet driver typically
has its own unique define.

I am not sure what you mean by this, but I did use a kernel.org
kernel to start with.  I had tested this with:
i386 UP
x86_64 UP
mips32 LE/BE
arch/ppc but not arch/powerpc
arm LE
XScale BE
