There was an off list discussion with myself, Dave Airlie and Jesse
Barnes about this a few days prior to the 2.6.34 merge window. The KMS
patches were entire dropped from the final Linus pull requests for
several reasons.

   * The atomic kernel mode setting path was not stable without mutex
exception paths where the kgdb path was allowed to "violate" certain mutex.

   * Dave wanted the atomic mode setting API to have the callbacks in a
different level of the graphics stack

   * There were still open issues with the keyboard handlers and sysrq
trapping where no agreement had been reached between the need of the
kernel debugger to slightly change the input vs opinion of the Input
maintainers.

That means the KMS <-> KDB integration work moved back to the RFC status
and at the moment there is no working set of patches for the 2.6.35 stream.

Jason.
