Here's an updated patch for radeon KDB/KMS, based on jwessel's current
kgdb-next branch; please review (and test, if you can). Some details:
* I tried to reuse as much code as possible. Both _set_base() and
_set_base_atomic() now end up in a single function (with an "atomic"
argument), and I assign to a struct pointer "target_fb" to keep the
main body of the code clear of more if-statements. If reassigning
the struct pointer is too weird, I could also create another new
function and pass the appropriate drm_framebuffer struct into that;
whichever is preferred.
* I've tested it on Avivo/r600. There are code paths for legacy radeon
as well as evergreen that I'm not able to test as easily, so help with
that would be great. The changes to the three _set_base_atomic()s are
essentially the same, so I'm not expecting much variation in behavior.
* I found one bug, and am not sure whether it's in my code or the core:
After arriving back in X via typing "go" in a kdb fb, the first switch
to another VT fails (but subsequent switches work). The way in which
it fails is that neither _set_base() nor _set_base_atomic() are called,
whereas normally one or the other is called on every VT switch.
So, to duplicate:
* start out in X
* echo g > /proc/sysrq-trigger # you move to a kdb fb
* "go" # you move back to X
* ctrl-alt-f2 # nothing happens; you're still in X, but your
# input is on VT2. _set_base() is not called.
* ctrl-alt-f7 # you get control of X again
* ctrl-alt-f2 # now it works, and _set_base() is called.
Could someone test whether this works with Intel KDB/KMS?
