Never said that perl should be a core dependency. The idea is that I can't blame an utility writer to have chosen the right language for the job. And AFAIK perl isn't too bad on windows (tried activeperl eons ago, worked fine) > perlcc to convert it to C, but a manual line-by-line conversion would be > much better. Not difficult, just tedious.
