Just my very small contribution: - It would be very nice if assiting other projects to support KiCad formats. What about a common library that could be adapted to other EDA software?
It would be nice to use LGPL, so this way even interested proprietary software would use it to have KiCad interoperability. Ideally, it would be even nicer to make something like the Document Liberation Project. I understand this is a really very very difficult task to make it possible, as it requires massive testing and RE, despite there are some documentation and converters out there. I'm also sure there's lots of testing to check it and other file formats not yet known. Kind regards.
