I agree with JP. Move colors out of layer manager into a separate dialog, add more powerful features for GAL. This ties in to my plans to add color theme support and also some other ideas I have for new display modes in GAL.
Another feature I want to clone from a commercial product is saved "display schemes" which are at a minimum, a set of layers hidden/visible. So you just pick your "routing" scheme or your "placement" scheme, etc, and it automatically sets up the layer visibility to your preference.
