In fact, the document "Impedance control TA - draft 2016 08 16.pdf" is only a draft about controlling layer impedance. the Aperture Function like "%TA.AperImpedance,Track,ENCX24J600,100,Zo*% is not yet in Gerber File Format doc. This document is an answer to a question about how to mark tracks with impedance controlled. The first document I sent (Gerber Job File 2017.xx dd 2017 11 28.pdf) is more important, because it allows sending to the manufacturers the info about board layers stack, that is usually sent by users in a text file. Currently, in Kicad this job file is created and contains mainly the list of gerber files. (if Gerbview opens this file, it opens all .gbr files listed in the job file) I am thinking the Gerber X2 new features is supported by serious board vendors. (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/kicad/+bug/1733710 for a request about X2 application) I am currently working (very slowly..., not for V5!) to a dialog to enter more info (layers thickness, color, material ...) in gerber job file. > On 11/29/2017 09:43 AM, jp charras wrote: >> As you know, Kicad is currently supporting a Gerber Job file to store some >> technical info needed to >> make a board and cannot be stored in .gbr files. >> >> For instance board stackup info (list of .gbr files related to the project, >> copper thickness, >> dielectric ...) >> >> Recently, I sent a RCF about a first draft of Gerber Job file an received >> two important comments, >> that asked for more info related to dielectric. >> This info is now included in latest Gerber Job file format. >> >> Ucamco (the company which manages the Gerber format) fully appreciated this >> help, and send me the >> latest draft of the Gerber Job file format to get comments about this >> version. >> >> Here is the mail I received: >> >>> Hallo JP, >>> >>> Attached is the latest draft of the draft.
