I just got the 1080p Precision 5520 at work (the xps15 2017 equivalent) and I'd highly recommend it. The screen is one of the best I've experienced on a laptop. The XPS15 is likely outside your desired budget (around $1500 for a i7Quad/4k/16GB/512GBSSD). The XPS13 can be had occasionally with an i7 8GB of ram and an 1080p display for around $800 and has 12hr+ battery life.
