Jeff, I'm not sure what feedback you are looking for. If I'm reading the forum post correctly, it appears the user was confused about the difference between "update footprint from library" and "change footprint". This seems clear to me but then again, I'm not new to board layout software so maybe this is just a rookie mistake.
