We’ve always had a Net popup in the Track & Via Properties dialog.

Changing the net doesn’t currently work because nets are propagated out from
pads, so any net change is just wiped out by the propagation we perform when
the dialog closes. I don’t know if it’s always been this way or if this is the
result of a recent change.

I’ve added some code which throws up a dialog allowing the user to correct this
(or change her mind):

Seth had some concerns that the footprints would no longer match the schematic.
But that’s no different than changing the net on a pad through Pad Properties,
which we also allow.

Even if the user does want to keep the schematic and board in sync, how do we
know they’re not going to back-annotate later? Or change the schematic by hand
later? Or has even already changed the schematic by hand. I’m concerned that
when we try to be too smart we often just get in the way.

Thoughts?

Cheers,
Jeff.

BTW: is the warning icon that small in KIDIALOGs on other platforms? It looks
a little lost….
