I have a Dell laptop set up with Fedora 11 (32-bit version), and I've been
running kicad-20090216-final successfully and happily. The laptop has an ATI
mobility Radeon HD3670 video card, and I've had no trouble using the open
source radeon driver.

Recently (finally) ATI released the Catalyst 9.8 driver, which finally brings
support to the Fedora 11 linux kernel, and I installed it.

With the ATI driver I've noticed that screen refreshes in pcbnew are extremely
slow - you can almost see the individual traces popping onto the screen, one
after another. With the open source drivers, the refresh is almost
instantaneous.

Anybody have any thoughts as to what might be going on here?

(I posted a similar message a few months ago, but at that time I was running
the 64-bit version of Fedora 10, and I though the issue might be related to
buggy 64-bit video drivers).

Thanks for any pointers!
Ryan
