Nope, this was something I've been thinking about for a while, I just decided to post it yesterday as a way to avoid working on what I should have been doing. :-) Being able to more easily integrate documentation with the library is one benefit of my proposed system, but compared to some of the others it is relatively minor one. Not to say that it wouldn't be extremely beneficial, just that I think the system would lead to a substantially larger, better quality, and more maintainable library, so documentation is almost secondary.
