Right then. I am trying to install the latest stable release, and trying to 
follow this guide 
http://iut-tice.ujf-grenoble.fr/cao/full_version_linux-install.txt

how do you install into /usr/local ?????

no matter what I try, whether using the terminal or going the GUI way, it says 
that I do not have permission to access this folder.

So where am I supposed to install Kicad????
