So you want to buy a PC. However, you do not want to buy just the typical,
run of the mill clone. You want a true blue branded PC. Yet also, you do not
want to have Windows in your new system. You want Linux, BSD, or other OS on
that machine. Then you called up your vendor asking for a branded naked PC.
And you were surprised that they do not sell naked PCs. What do you do?

This typically is just one scenario that illustrates the PC market already
cornered by MS. ZDNet conducted a research/investigation into this and the
findings can be found at
http://news.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/0,1000000091,39286228,00.htm.

The prospect of buying naked branded PCs are pretty slim, unless, theres a
shakedown that will rock the whole IT world.
