CALL FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS 2010*
CMCRC offers $50,000 Industry-Sponsored Scholarships for PhDs in Finance
*The PhD scholarship stipend is up to $50,000 annually over three years, and
up to 10 scholarships are still available in 2010.
We are seeking applications from students completing 1st Class Honours
degrees in one, or more of:
* Finance / Capital Markets
* Econometrics / Actuarial Studies
* Information Technology / Data Mining / Language Technology
The CMCRC provides an exciting, high calibre, and well resourced research
environment for work in capital markets. The research objective is to create
better capital markets locally, regionally, and globally. CMCRC research is
about providing a better understanding of financial markets (their
operation
and their price behaviour) and research which
facilitates the provision of
advances in technology to capital markets.
Programs currently operate under the following research themes:
* market design and market behaviour
* investment management
* surveillance and compliance
* data and text mining
The application deadline is 15th November. Applicants should have or expect
to achieve a 1st class honours degree, or an equivalently strong Masters
degree (by research) in a relevant discipline.
