Postscript.
Joe, Please continue to raise a new bug report for this, but have a look
at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347166, Comment # 15, last
paragraph.
I submitted a patch for this bug nearly six months ago, but this has got
stuck in Reviewboard. Subsequently, Jack and I noticed what appears to
resemble your problem and I did more investigating. What I now have
here appears to fix your problem, but because of the time lapse, I will
need to do more checking, as my brain capacity does extend that far back.

Hi Joe
Would you raise a bug report for this please, and indicate what revision
of KMM you are on.
Also, leaving aside the import aspect, would you try making the same
change on a manually entered transaction.
If that too displays the same issue, please omit from the bug report the
reference to importing as it could mislead others.
Thanks

All,
I have used the import and online banking updates for my investment
accounts. There is a problem with the cash sweep/money market and other
transactions that are imported as a Dividend activity.
A dividend requires a brokerage account, a reinvested dividend does
not. I try and change the dividend to a reinvestment which causes the
transaction to be flagged error needing an account. It seems that logic
does not delete the account field for the dividend transaction during
the update, even if I delete from the gui.
The only way I can get this in the system is to manually enter the
transaction adn delete the imported one. I am glad to work with the
team on this.
I like this software and I think it has potential, but things like this
and the performance with database, and with the file (not as bad) need
updating. I base this on a history with General Ledger Accounting
systems, Oil and Gas accounting systems, and ETRMs.
Please let me know what I can to to help.
Thanks
