The problem is not with the reconciliation itself, but I have only had it happen during reconciliation - specifically of investment accounts.

When I get a statement from my broker, I open the ledger of both the investment and brokerage accounts. I clear transactions in both, and when the numbers match, I do the reconciliation of the brokerage account first. I then select the investment account in the ledger, and go to the Investments View to confirm the number of shares of each stock I hold in that account. When I've done that, I then reconcile the investment account itself. The problem is that sometimes (unpredictable, but usually for accounts with have more open securities) when I'm done in the Investments View and switch back to the Ledgers View, the ledger for the Investment Account is closed. It is clearly not hard to re-open it, but I'd really love to know why it got closed. Note that when this happens, I am not currently running the reconciliation wizard - I have completed the wizard for the brokerage account, and not yet started it for the investment account.

Any thoughts, or perhaps things to try running under gdb?

Jack
