Rate: 43$/hr Job Description: . Implements support processes, including hardware, software, and communications for server platforms. . Responsible for monitoring, managing, and tuning the underlying hardware and operating system in a production and test environments. . While this is typically a employee from the Client company, in outsourced or new installations, it could be an Company's or contract employee. . Experienced as a systems programmer 2 - 4 years. . Experienced in dealing with hardware issues - 3 years. . Experienced in operations. . Ability to read technical manuals. . Ability to experiment with arcane procedures. . Interface with operations, systems programming, help desk, DBAs, and application development. Interface with vendor support organization. . Work closely with Engineering and infrastructure team. To help build UNIX expertise within the Test Center. . Utilize appropriate test planning, design and management tools in the execution a of test activities and utilize HP Unix servers . Define and implement verification and validation practices, standard and processes in the UNIX test environment . Leverage existing processes and tools while identifying and improving gaps relating to the implementation and utilization of test automation/test tools . HELP the TEST Center implement HP Openview monitoring solution to be utilized within the test environments. HP_UX/AIX System Adminstrator: Key responsibilities include* . Strong working knowledge of HP-UX and AIX OPERATING SYSTEMS AND HARDWARE . Develop and execute scripts and other UNIX utilities . Define and configure hardware and software components as necessary to support UNIX initiatives. . Provide 7X24 on-call support as part of an on call rotation. . Work closely with other engineers and operations staff to solve real time issue. . Lead/participate in projects of the Systems Engineering team to deliver and support new technology implementations. . Contribute to the analysis, design snf build of new/existing servers within the UNIX environment. . Recommend and implement policies on system deployment use and services. . Develop and implement effective server security and control structure for hosted products and environments. . Implement enhance and test high availability a disaster recovery mechanisms. . Work closely with various groups to ensure that computer services are met . Perform day to day UNIX System Administrator Activities . Keeps abreast of new technologies to provide additional services.
