Our client is seeking a Sr. Data Architect with 10 to 15 years of
applicable/demonstrated experience of designing databases for large scale
applications. This person will contribute to the overall data architecture
strategy through analysis, design and creation for the enterprise
environment. This person will perform detailed analysis of business
processes to define Architecture requirements. The Data Architect has
senior-level technical responsibility for overseeing the design,
development, implementation and maintenance of the Data Architecture
function.  This position will serve as the in-house expert and authority
driving innovative data designs and is responsible for the overall plans to
initiate and pursue continuous data quality improvements.



Responsibilities:



-     Holds overall, senior-level technical responsibility for management,
planning, design and implementation of enterprise Data Architecture domain
to ensure alignment of Service Oriented Architecture with business strategy
– tools, guidelines, principles, policies and governance.

-     Maintains accountability for establishing the Data Architecture vision
and championing efforts to reach that vision. Serves as the in-house expert
and authority by defining, implementing and enforcing all data integration
standards and documentation.

-     Continually reviews and suggests improvement to the Data Architecture
processes, policies, and vision and explores new and emerging technologies.
Leads the investigation and adaptation of beneficial Data Architecture
technologies and tools.

-     Leads strategy, development and implementation of an Enterprise Data
Model and strategy development for usage.

-     Defines strategies and standards for Business Data Integration. Serves
as the “IT owner” for Business Data Strategy & functions necessary to
support the strategy.

-     Contributes in developing transparent and well understood enterprise
data governance processes, rules and technologies to support them.

-     Provides deep expertise in enterprise data and information management
methods and standards.

-     Drives the business requirement and associated review sessions into
effective data integration. Guides world class data expertise and knowledge
regarding customer and associated data across the infrastructure

-     Promotes data sharing, consistency and reuse across the eco-system.
Manages reviews of data quality deliverables of all phases and enhancements.

-     Collaborates with business units and data owners to successfully
implement and maintain a enterprise level business analytics and data
warehousing solution.  Identifies and promotes best practices for data
modeling within information areas across company, providing oversight for
all activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data
consolidation using industry standard data modeling methods and processes.



Preferred:



-     Ensures that operational and analytical data warehouses are able to
support all business requirements for business reporting across the
organization.

-     Displays demonstrated ability in communicating the overall customer
data architecture to both technical and business constituencies.

-     Develops guidelines and best practices to ensure data standardization
and consistency.

-     Leads design of exception handling and data cleansing /
standardization procedures and business transformation rules and logic.

-     Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate
Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or
equivalent.

-     At least 10 years experience in Data Architecture and in Data
modeling, Database design, Computer programming.

-     8 years experience including at least 2 enterprise level data
solutions or architecture projects. Deep understanding of relational DBMS
and SQL.

-     Experience in assessing and closing transactional and business
intelligence/analytics data gaps in large scale heterogeneous environment

-     Experience defining and enabling Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
required.

-     A minimum of seven years of full lifecycle data warehousing
experience. Five to seven years of experience in leading data integration
efforts in large scale programs.

-     Experience with one or more of the following database engines: (SQL
Server) and experience with data modeling tools.

-     Experience in metadata, systems administration, application tuning and
debugging.

-     Deep understanding of core architectural principles such as
modularity, restorability, parallelization and table driven business rules.
Deep understanding of information delivery architecture including the
creation of abstraction layers, SQL query paths and optimization, report
level calculations and end user reporting architecture.

-     Knowledge, experience and success in management of complex data
architecture and data management projects.  Knowledge of data management and
planning including use of tools and techniques for data modeling, database
design, database administration, metadata management, and data quality
assurance.

-     Knowledge of tools and methods used to facilitate effective data
architecture and data management such as SQL DML and DDL, PL/SQL, T/SQL,
Enterprise Architect, Rational Data Architect, Rational Rose and/or Software
Architect, Fileman Electronic Data Dictionary, Oracle, OOAD, HL7 Versions 2
and 3, SOA, Oracle Designer, Visio, 11179 Metadata Registry standard, DRM,
Cache, SQL Server, Rational Enterprise Suite, Java, M, HTML, JavaScript,
XML, XSD, CWM, XMI, ORM, XSLT, SOAP, WSDL, Distributed Transactions,
Database Servers, Database COOP, Office, OWL, XPATH, UNIX, Linux, Windows,
and Project.
