*Position: Data Conversion Analyst*

*Location: Austin, TX*

*Duration: 6 Months*


I.          DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one
Data Conversion Analyst, hereafter referred to as Worker(s), who meets the
general qualifications of *ITSAC Developer Analyst 2 Category, Core
Technology Type* and the specifications outlined in this document for the
Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS).



                All work products resulting from the project shall be
considered “works made for hire” and are the property of the DARS.  DARS may
include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their
Workers) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by
the Texas law. DARS will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which
occur during the process of selecting a Worker(s).



DARS IR is in the process of converting agency employee training records
currently stored into multiple applications into PeopleSoft Administer
Training.  A component of this project is to analyze existing data fields
and data to construct an interim solution with which to transfer employee
training data.  There is currently one legacy application and Registrar, an
off-the-shelf application, which need to be converted. Smaller applications
and manual files will also need to be converted to PeopleSoft Administer
Training.  The identified applications are written utilizing Java deployed
on a weblogic server with an Informix 7 database installed on a NCR Unix
platform.  Contractor will create a text delimited load file from the
Informix database to be processed into an Oracle database (version 9.0) via
a PeopleSoft load script.



The Scope-of-Work could include, but is not limited to the following tasks
listed below. The analysis, decision-making, and documentation activities
shall be developed with assistance and input from key DARS management and
technical and other parties deemed appropriate by DARS IR through meetings
facilitated by the awarded vendor.



*A.**     *Work with DARS Training Repository Deployment project team to
analyze and convert currently used employee training application data to the
PeopleSoft Administer Training module. **

*B.**     *Development of an interim database and related queries and
routines shall adhere to DARS IR standards utilizing DARS IR standard
architecture. **

*C.**     *Development of output files to migrate data will be developed
using HHSC and Convergys standards.

II.                WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Degree or equivalent

BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of
education and relevant experience required

*III.       TERM OF SERVICE*

Services expect to start as soon as possible and are to be completed by July
15, 2010.  Total estimated Worker hours shall not exceed 930 hours.  This
service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties
agree to do so in writing.



*IV.          WORK HOURS AND LOCATION*

A.     Services shall be provided during normal business hours unless
otherwise coordinated through the DARS. Normal business hours are Monday
through Friday from 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when
the agency is closed.

B.     The primary work location(s) will be at the DARS Administration
Building, 4800 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas.  Any and all travel, per
diem, parking, and/or living expenses shall be at the Worker’s and/or
Vendor’s expense.
