MicroStrategy is our preeminent technology used for reporting for Data Warehousing applications at Client and is a critical component of the overall technology architecture at Client. The Application Engineer will design and develop applications using the MicroStrategy developer tool including the MicroStrategy SDK. Experience in relational data modeling, logical data modeling and/or other analytic reporting tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, Crystal Reports or Microsoft Reporting Services is a plus. Candidates must be able to communicate with business owners, users, and IT professionals with equal ease to create and preserve the functional integrity of the solution. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to operate in a team environment are essential, as are documentation and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities: • Work as a member of the delivery team to implement reporting and analytic solutions to our business partners. • Develop reporting MicroStrategy metadata including all project configuration for schema, dimensions, metrics etc. • Develop specific reports as needed. • Work with the BI Architect and Informatica developers to prototype solutions for the purposes of defining requirements and developing designs. • Develop, implement and maintain unit tests for applications. • Participate in requirements gathering and definition. • Participate in functional test planning. • Develop and maintaining a thorough knowledge of the assigned applications, functional areas or projects. • Work with the team to ensure the quality of coordinated business functions. • Respond quickly and effectively manage production issues from discovery through resolution. • Participate in project planning by providing scope and effort estimates. • Participate in design and maintenance of enterprise architecture. Qualifications: • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience • Detailed knowledge and development experience with the MicroStrategy version 8 or 9.
