Direct client requirement…… Location : Pasadena, CA Rate cap: $48/hr Duration: 6 Months Special skill requirements: Deep knowledge and experience with: Large enterprise Active Directory infrastructure - 5000+ users required. Enterprise migration from Windows NT to current versions of Windows. Server Clustering. Monitoring solutions, configurations, and deployment. Enterprise Change Management processes, Maintenance Window evaluation and proposals, System Inventory Management. Project description: 1. Identify Domain Controllers that are a single point of failure configuration in the Client environment. Provide a report detailing systems that are in a single point of failure configuration and a project outline for proper remediation. 2. Create a design plan to upgrade all NT4 servers to a current, supported platform and Domain configuration. 3. Obtain risk signoff of best effort support, single point of failure, and risk to Service Level Agreement (SL)s due to outdated systems until upgrade plan is complete. Work with Client security organization and IBM Project Office to fully document the risks of systems running with down level HW/SW or as a single point of failure. 4. Validate all cluster configurations for currency and document discrepancies with supported levels. Identify clusters that require upgrading to current standard (hardware, firmware, Operating System (OS) Level, HACMP Level). Authoritative inventory source shall be updated with pertinent data collected. 5. Perform analysis of midrange monitoring environment to identify current state. Review existing analysis, vet with industry standards and IBM best practices to design, build, and document an official monitoring strategy above and beyond what is already covered in the Six-pack tools deployment plan prepared as a part of the Transition. Generate a report of critical gaps and how these should be addressed. 6. Work with Client to define scheduled maintenance windows for all supported midrange systems. Document these agreed to windows in authoritative inventory source for future use. Work in conjunction with other known projects (ABC) to optimize collection/collaboration. 7. Review current midrange OS backup strategy. Generate recommendations for a redesign of the current strategy. 8. Review Application Run Books to identify missing components and sub-interfaces of the applications (circle of support sub-applications and its scheduled jobs).
