*Position: Oracle DBA (Architect Level*)
*Location: **Boston, CT*
*Length: 6 months
**Rate: Keep it LOW*
*RESPONSIBILITIES:
* This position requires both the ability to design a high capacity
high performance database and develop the detailed functional aspects
required.
Participate in functional analysis discussions and positively
contribute to conversations.
Translate business and functional requirements into design and
implementations.
Ability to participate in every level of the SDLC and deliver quality
solutions into production.
Comfortable with an iterative development approach and is not
frustrated by change and ambiguity.
Take on other projects and tasks as assigned
*Qualifications:
* 10+ years data modeling and database architecture
5+ years experience utilizing ER modeling tools (e.g. Erwin)
Extensive experience designing high performance databases and the
manipulation, extraction, querying and reporting of data/information
Minimum of 5 years experience applying TNF and de-normalization
Ability to apply logical model to physical database construction
Extensive experience performance optimization, indexing and
partitioning
Extensive experience supporting high capacity databases on Oracle,
including (10g)& (9i)
Expert level replication and RAC experience
Extensive development experience with Java Stored Procedures
Polished written and verbal communication skills and ability to
communicate at all levels of the organization
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks without full time
supervision
Strong detail oriented approach with thorough analytical skills and
problem solving
Ability to work with and mentor development team members
*Education*:
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or other equivalent
academic background
*Nice to have:
* Proven experience in the ability to grasp financial services
business concepts and applying these technologies
