I currently have 6+ month contract position for a Sr. Oracle 10g DBA with
PHP experience in NYC. Must be EAD, GC or Citizen. Make sure the candidate
has PHP experience as well.
The client *WILL ONLY CONSIDER LOCAL CANDIDATES*, please do not send me out
of area candidates or candidates willing to relocate. We do not disclose

*TITLE: Oracle 10g DBA with PHP experience - 6 month contract in NYC - Must

*Job Summary:**
**The person should have the following skills to effectively support our
environment ***
- *Creates and maintains all databases required for development,
testing, education and production usage.** *
- *Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the
databases. ***
- *Perform ongoing tuning of the database instances. An advanced
knowledge of Oracle Internals is necessary.** *
- *Should be familiar with load balancing concepts ***
- *Install new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any
other tools that access the Oracle database. ***
- *Plan and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database.** *
- *Perform migrations of programs, database changes, reference data
changes and menu changes through the development life cycle.** *
- *Implement and enforces security for all of the Oracle Databases. **
*
- *Perform database re-organizations as required to assist performance
and ensure maximum uptime of the database.** *
- *Evaluate releases of Oracle and its tools, and third party products
to ensure that the databases are running the products that are most
appropriate. Work with application developers and System administrators
along with the application developers and System administrators,
to ensure
that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal
impact.** *
- *Provide technical support to application development teams. ***
- *Enforce and maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of
the database.** *
- *Administer all database objects, including tables, clusters,
indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures. ***
- *Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database
objects.** *
- *Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, applications and
development tools*
*Experience/Skills:** *
- *Oracle 10g required *
- *PHP required *
- *Very good in trouble shooting problems** *
- *Working within a team of DBA’s with minimal guidance** *
- *BS in engineering, computer science or equivalent with 5-7 years of
proven experience doing production support (not development) of a highly
transactional, dynamic database environment *
- *Candidate will have strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills **
*
- *Must have experience working in a highly active environment with
24x7x365 technical management experience. ***
*Certificates in various database technologies are desirable*
