J2EE WebLogic and JBoss Administrator Location : Washington, DC Duration : 6-months+ Required : Visa Type : End Client/Client Domain : Description: I need a J2EE WebLogic and JBoss Administrator in Washington, DC to start immediately. Duties and Responsibilities: (list most important and frequently performed first) · Install, configure, patch, and tune WebLogic, JVM, Apache, JBoss, Sun App server and related middleware components · Uncover poor performing code and work with development to correct · Utilize APM (Application Performance Management) software to develop a robust monitoring solution for problem detection/avoidance and capacity planning · Recommend and implement patches for 3rd party and open source software · Develop scripts to automate routine administrative tasks · Ensure compliance with vendor license model · Propose and justify Middleware technology cost-saving techniques · Virtualization, migration to open source, consolidation, performance tuning, etc. · Domain creation, including clustered domains · User Maintenance · Advanced performance and tuning experience including development of custom tools. (Java MBeans Extensions) · Experience implementing tools that are extensions to WebLogic, JBoss, Sun Application server and Apache such as monitoring tools, code profiling tools, etc. · Lead in risk assessment, identifying technology challenges and recommend architectures · Strong WebLogic Tuning skills, including: o Installation, configuration, patching o GC optimization o Memory leak detection o Thread pool tuning o Connection pool tuning · Experience with Apache admin tasks including: o Installation, configuration, patching o WebLogic Plug-In Configuration · Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Perl, shell, etc.) Minimum Qualifications: · 5+ years of experience in trouble shooting and performance tuning of WebLogic, JBoss, Sun Application, and Apache web-servers · 5+ years of experience in Installing/Administering/tuning/upgrading WebLogic 8.x (and above), Sun Application, and JBoss application servers in Windows and Linux/Solaris environments · Bachelors degree with a focus in computer science, management information systems or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience · Three or more years of experience working in a 24x7x365 enterprise environment. Requirements and General Skills: (list required knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as physical requirements, shift work/on-call hours, travel and working conditions) · Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills · Excellent organizational skills · Ability to work in a team environment or as an individual contributor · Must be well versed in dealing with staff that is both technical and non-technical · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Ability to organize and work on multiple projects concurrently, often under strict time constraints · Must be able to effectively multi-task · Highly detailed oriented · Ability to be available 24/7, as required in order to support the availability and uptime requirements of the business · Command line and remote administration. · Strong problem solving and root cause analysis. · Ability to work in a team environment or as an individual contributor. Technical Skills: (list required computer and technical skills and equipment/software used) · Experience in configuring WebLogic server instances into WebLogic clusters for high availability · Experience performance tuning at WebLogic domain level and OS level, performance tuned WebLogic heap, threads, JDBC and JMS subsystems · Must have a thorough knowledge of database technologies including Oracle RAC, LDAP, SQL · Must possess excellent knowledge and expertise in J2EE technologies like JDBC, RMI, JMS, JNDI and JTA · Must have strong knowledge on IT and Web Security such as LDAP, SSL certificates · Must have managed projects as well as worked on them · Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously · Hands-on systems Administration experience on Sun Solaris, Red Hat Linux, Windows is a plus. · Knowledge and working experience with Data networking, IP routing, IP addressing, subnets TCP/IP, FTP, DNS, SSH.
