**Websphere E-Commerce Admin**
The E-Commerce System Engineer is responsible for defining, planning,
implementing, and overseeing tasks, projects and other initiatives in
support of the Lowes.com Infrastructure.
These projects span across multiple areas including AIX, Linux, IBM
WebSphere, and IBM WebSphere Commerce.
The position interfaces with numerous internal constituents as well as
external third parties and is charged with managing multiple customer and
operational initiatives against aggressive schedules.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
. Must be able to install, patch, configure, troubleshoot and optimize
Linux servers, or
. Must be able to install, patch, configure, troubleshoot and optimize AIX
servers
. Must be able to install, patch, configure, troubleshoot and optimize
WebSphere components including IHS, Plugins, Deployment Manager, and
Applications Servers. Must be able to migrate WebSphere to newer versions.
. Install, patch, configure and optimize WebSphere Commerce a plus.
. Able to trouble shoot WebSphere Commerce problems during install and work
with a 3 tier environment consisting of Linux webserver, AIX application,
and AIX db2 servers a plus.
. Configuring WebSphere Commerce settings inside administration consoles a
plus.
. Trouble Shooting and Problem Solving Skills - Be able to track down issues
from the front-end of the production website through the different tiers
until source of problem is located. Be in the on-call rotation. Must be able
to articulate what is going on and why you must execute items to alleviate
or fix the issues.
. Basic Scripting knowledge to write scripts to run from command line for
random monitoring or gathering of data needs.
. Proactive verbal and written communication skills, including good, active
listening skills.
Position Requirements
. Must have a Computer Science BS Degree or comparable work equivalent
. Must have Linux or AIX training and/or certification
. Must have IBM WebSphere training and/or certification
. WebSphere Commerce training or certification a plus
. 2+ years of Internet or eCommerce experience with a solid understanding
of Linux, AIX, DB2, WebSphere, and WebSphere Commerce environment a plus
. Excellent oral and written communication skills
. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
. Relationship building skills
. Excellent time management/organizational skills Preferred Qualifications
Desirable for degree to be in Computer Science or other related Engineering
degree
